2027 Summer Intensive Festival

June 28 – July 31, 2027
Lucymont E.P.A.C. | New Castle, Pennsylvania

Five Weeks of Training • Creation • Performance

A holistic summer experience for dedicated dancers ages 11–20.

The Adage Ballet Academy Summer Intensive Festival brings together comprehensive daily training, professional guest artists, original choreography, and meaningful performance opportunities in one immersive five-week experience.

More Than a Summer Intensive

Ballet is a performing art. We believe dancers should have the opportunity not only to train intensively, but to experience the full artistic process of learning choreography, rehearsing, performing, receiving feedback, refining their work, and returning to the stage.

The Summer Intensive Festival combines Adage Ballet Academy’s holistic approach to training with extensive rehearsal and performance experience, giving dancers the opportunity to develop technically, physically, intellectually, and artistically throughout the five weeks.

PERFORM

Weeks 1–4 conclude with onsite performances at Lucymont. The festival culminates on July 31 with the full repertory presented at the historic Scottish Rite Cathedral in New Castle.

Guest Artists in Residence

Throughout the five-week festival, dancers will have the opportunity to work closely with distinguished artists from across the professional ballet world.

During Weeks 1–4, a Guest Artist will join us in residence at Lucymont to teach master classes and create or set choreography on the dancers. This concentrated week of study gives students the opportunity to experience different artistic voices, professional approaches, and choreographic processes throughout the summer.

During Week 5, our Festival Guest Artists will join the students for master classes and take the stage alongside them in the final performance at the Scottish Rite Cathedral.

2027 Guest Artists will be revealed throughout the fall.

The Summer Intensive Festival is a five-week Primary Tier program for serious dancers ages 11–20. Students will be divided into two groups according to training level and overall readiness. Initial placement will be based on application materials and reviewed during the first day of the intensive so that any necessary adjustments can be made quickly.

All levels follow the same program hours and receive equal access to Adage faculty and Guest Artists.

Who Should Apply?

We are looking for serious ballet students ages 11–20 who are ready to approach five weeks of intensive study with discipline, curiosity, and an open mind.

At Adage, placement is not determined by age alone. We believe that work ethic, openness to correction, artistic curiosity, and the desire to improve are essential parts of a dancer’s potential.

Applicants will be asked to submit their training history and ballet photographs (a recent headshot, first arabesque, croisé fourth position on relevé) so that we can assess overall readiness and determine initial placement.

Initial placement will be reviewed during the first day of the program, and any necessary adjustments will be made as quickly as possible.

Join us for five weeks of serious training, artistic creation, and meaningful performance experience at Lucymont.
